Bayles Early Child Center
Children posses such great potential. They are naturally curious. They learn best by experience and they benefit most when given the opportunity to experiment, discover and express their ideas in a pleasant, developmentally sound environment.
Our goal is to allow each child to grow and develop in the most positive environment possible. We want them to be happy and comfortable in the "new world" they are discovering.
Each classroom is arranged in learning centers that include: blocks, dramatic play, language experiences, manipulatives, science, "writing" center and creative art. All activities are designed to develop one or more skills which are essential for learning. Materials in each center are changed frequently to hold the child's interest. Music, Gymnastics, Spanish and Hebrew help to round out our program.

Free Play in Centers
Children need the choice and independence gained from free play. Children develop and perfect their socialization skills. It is a time for more individualized attention with teachers observing and interacting with children as needed. Their choices include: Science Corner, puzzles, blocks, housekeeping area, and dress-up area. Learning games are also available at the table, easel area, etc. Children also learn how to clean up once free play is over.
Snack
It is a time to socialize and to develop healthy habits such as hand washing before eating. They also learn to clean up after themselves when they are finished.
Circle Time
Children sit together as a group. It is a carefully planned activity. They are encouraged to express ideas and to discuss "life events." Children learn new concepts and further develop their vocabularies. They bring up themes of interest to them. It is a time for puppets, flannel board, new songs, acting, finger plays, and circle games. Teachers use this time to encourage discussion about the unit and theme of the week.
Large Muscle Activity Time
Children enjoy the playground equipment, may play (at times) organized ball or parachute games indoors or outdoors. This helps children develop endurance and agility. Due to staff/child ratio requirements, children may not be kept indoors due to illness, and should remain home if not able to go outside.
Judaic Program
The teachers carefully plan experiences that enhance our Judaic program through song, dance, cooking, activities, crafts and Tzedakah projects. Our weekly interactive morning Shabbat service is a wonderful way to come together as a family.
Tot Shabbat
Once a trimester, we have a special 5:45PM Shabbat Service especially geared towards our young families. Rabbi Lang leads these services in an age appropriate format.

Spaces are filling up for camp this summer. We offer a summer camp program for children ages 2 - 6.
